The Sherline Individual Milling Collet – 7/32" - 7/32 is engineered for use with the Morse #1 internal taper, a standard feature on both the Sherline lathe and vertical mill. This design allows for a superior clamping force compared to WW collets, making it ideal for securing miniature size end mills, center drills, and Dremel® bits. The collet is particularly effective for holding tools with shank sizes of 3/16" or 1/4", as well as #1 and smaller center drills, and 1/8" shank Dremel® bits. It is crucial that the cutting tools used with this collet have a shank size within .001" of the specified size to ensure optimal performance.

The shallow angle of the Morse #1 taper contributes to the enhanced clamping pressure, but it also means that the collet will not release from the spindle without specific actions. To remove the collet, the drawbolt must be backed off by a couple of revolutions, followed by a tap on the drawbolt to free the collet from the spindle.

Note: Ensure the shank size of the cutting tools is within .001" of the manufactured size for proper use.
